VIP Networking Night in London

On September 4, we held the first EMX Cryptotrader VIP Networking Night in London, during World Blockchain Forum.

This is the first event in a series of exclusive VIP Networking events we are holding worldwide over the next year to raise EMX’s profile, in line with the launch of our public beta, trading competition, and upcoming token sale.

Our EMX Cryptotrader VIP Networking events are essentially premium meetups, with five main objectives:

  • Raise awareness of EMX and futures trading
  • Generate signups for our upcoming trading competition
  • Build local communities in the cities we visit
  • Identify local ambassadors to continue evangelizing the EMX brand
  • Form strategic relationships with key industry players

With these events, our focus is on finding active crypto traders and investors, institutional traders, market makers, and industry experts first — the people who will actually use our exchange and help us create the liquidity that is so essential to building a best-in-class exchange.

EMX's Cryptotrader VIP Networking Night in London

I’m proud to announce that our first VIP Networking Night in London was a huge success.

With over 150 registered attendees, EMX’s Cryptotrader VIP Networking Night in London was touted widely by telegram communities in London as the premier event to attend during World Blockchain Forum.

The event was held at the gorgeous Secret Garden bar in the South Place Hotel. We kicked things off with some light networking, cocktails and canapés. A wide variety of communities were represented — from traders with traditional finance backgrounds to retail crypto traders and ICO investors.

After some networking, EMX’s Vinny Leow moderated a panel with some key industry players:

  • Henok “Hen” Tekle, Founding Partner of Alphachain
  • Crypto Arnie, Founder of Crypto Laboratory
  • Marc Ortaliz, Founder of Bitcoin OTC Desk
  • Jerald David, COO of EMX and former Director at CME Group

Topics discussed included the institutionalization of crypto exchanges, ICO investing strategies, the impact of the Bitcoin ETF, and the current state of the market. Our panel participants didn’t hold back and the crowd appreciated their candid honesty on all these topics. Hen, Arnie and Marc in particular are great community leaders in London, and we look forward to continuing our partnerships with them in the future.

EMX COO Jerald David

After the panel, EMX COO Jerry David closed the night with a presentation about EMX, which included some preview screens of our exchange beta — launching later this month to select traders.

No surprise, Jerry did a fantastic job summarizing how EMX will innovate the current exchange space — we’re building a derivatives exchange that bridges the traditional financial markets with the cryptocurrency markets.

We’re especially thankful to our panel guests and all our friends and supporters who attended the event, and hope to see many more of you at future events.
