International outreach is paramount to EMX’s success, especially in key markets like Singapore, so it was a no-brainer for the EMX team to attend Singapore Blockchain Week. I’m happy to share some quick highlights from our trip.
Sometimes these conferences can be hit or miss, but Singapore did not disappoint. This was by far one of the best collection of events the EMX team has had the privilege of attending — hats off to XSQ in particular for a tremendous job organizing and uniting so many communities in Singapore.

The EMX team and friends at Crypto Connection by the Bay
The EMX team spent much of the time taking important meetings with investors, attending partner events, interviewing with various media outlets, and walking the floor at Consensus Singapore. Some of the better events we attended were Crypto Connection by the Bay (hosted by Signum Capital) and the LD Capital Lunch, where we had an exhibitor booth and the opportunity to showcase our exchange beta to potential investors, market makers, and traders.
Because the EMX team is normally distributed, working across Palo Alto, Chicago, NYC, London and Hong Kong, we took full advantage of our time together in Singapore to work hard on our business development and marketing plans. It was great to have our team together in the same place.
Team EMX — Sohyung, Ryan, Christoph, Jim and Vinny
Our team made strong industry connections and advanced some key relationships to further the network growth and impact of EMX globally.
The biggest highlight by far was hosting one of the most buzzed-about events of the week in Singapore, the Crazy Rich Brunch. We co-hosted this exclusive event with our friends at Enecuum, and made sure to be extremely selective with the guest list.
We only invited funds, influencers, and high net worth individuals, and heavily vetted those who requested to get in. Just some of the funds in attendance included our friends at Kosmos Capital, Signum Capital, Luna Capital, Orichal Partners, 256 Ventures and more.
Brunch took place at The Bird Table & Bar, inside Marina Bay Sands. We chose this spot because it was just a few minutes walking distance from Consensus, and who doesn’t love some fried chicken and champagne in the morning?
On an extremely busy day at Consensus, we still managed to pack the venue. We were oversubscribed — more than 115 people showed up to check out the first public demonstration of EMX’s upcoming exchange.

Throughout the brunch, the EMX team conducted demos of the private beta. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. Many thanks to anyone who gave us constructive feedback; we will make sure to utilize it as we continue to iterate on the product.
It was refreshing to talk to such a curious and knowledgeable group. The excitement from the crowd only reinforced our belief that there is a real need for an institutional-grade crypto derivatives exchange, and EMX will top the current competitive market by offering a diverse array of products outside of just BTC and ETH futures.
We’ll share more about our learnings and experiences with the community in future updates.
In the meantime, don’t forget to join the EMX community channels. If we met you in Singapore or if you stopped by our brunch, we’d love to have you join our Telegram and Twitter to stay connected with our team.
